This page is divided into three sections:
If you want the Countdown program to run on your PC, and you have never installed Countdown before, go to the section entitled "Original Install".
If you already have Countdown on your PC, and want to make sure you have the latest version, go to the section entitled "Program Revision".
If you want a copy of Countdown that runs on a Palm-type device, go to the section entitled "Palm Version".
Needless to say, all versions are free to use. Hope you have fun with them...

Special Notice
On Aug 12, 2002, we completely re-designed the Windows version of the program. With this new version, you are able to save and work with up to 10 events at any time. As a result, everyone should consider what they have to be obsolete and should download the "Original Install" version. Once you install it, it will erase your previous tracked event.

Hi All -
Once you "click" on the download file link (below), you will see one of two screens, depending on your browser...
If you are using Internet Explorer, you will see a screen that offers you two choices: You can "Run this program from its current location" (or "Open") or you can "Save this program to disk" (or "Save"). Make sure you select the first choice, "Run this program from its current location" (or "Open"). Then, press the "Ok" button and the download and installation will continue automatically.
If you are using Netscape Navigator, you will see a standard "Save As..." screen. Accept whatever is shown and press the "Ok" button. The download and installation will continue automatically.
Once the download and installation are done, you will have a new program group named "Countdwn". In it, you will find a program of the same name. Run that program. You can locate it easily by pressing the "Start" button and selecting "Programs" from the menu. Look down the menu until you find "Countdwn".
This program is very simple to operate. Once you start it, you will see a small window in the center of your screen. On it is a list box and 4 buttons. Inside the list box are all the events you are tracking. Click on one and you will see the time left displayed just below the list box. If you press "Quit Countdown", it will close the program. Pressing "New Event" will open the Add/Edit form and allow you to enter data for a new event. Pressing "Edit Event" will also open the Add/Edit form and allow you to edit the currently selected event. Pressing "Delete Event" will allow you to delete the currently selected event. Notice that until you select an event (by clicking on it), both the "Edit" and "Delete" buttons are not available. Also, you will see the time remaining only if you have selected an event.
If you have any problems (or if the damned thing doesn't work), send me an email.

If you have already installed "Countdwn", and have been advised to download a revised copy (or, if you want to make sure you have the latest version), here's what to do:
Press the link below. You should save the program file that you about to download into the same folder that your current "Countdwn" is located. Normally, that will be in c:\program files\countdwn. This new file will over-write the existing countdwn.exe file. Note: this download procedure is different than the one used when first installing "Countdwn".
The latest revision was posted at: 8/12/02 @ 11:49 am Eastern.

For those who want the Palm OS version, we have made the program available for the Palm. Download the zip file, unzip it somewhere on your hard drive, and read the "readme.txt" file that comes with it. This version is one we sell commercially (but free for you). Have fun!
